Thanks man, you're the first one making something that's inspired by my style. I really appreciate that! Gives me a huge boost to make some more! :D
So this song has a cool melody. It definitely got some of my style in it.
I think you did a good job on the progression. The bassdrum is kinda hard which pushes the other synths away in the mix. Try giving sounds and synths more space. I can hear when there is no bass, the synths and even the drums get a lot louder. Hear the difference at 3:40 and 4:50.

Well again, never expected someone being inspired by me. I thank you big! *internet handshake* (:

You're welcome! Thanks for the helpful review!
I probably did make the bass drum a bit too strong. I've still got a lot to learn when it comes to mixing, so thanks for the advise!
I'm glad you enjoyed the song, you make some amazing music, and I'd love to collab in the future!

You just summed up the whole festifart bigshit scene. 11/10

Hah the start was funny. Like you have Skrillex performing with an orchestral band or so, although the classical instruments are from a vst, right? I would say it's dubstep with some generic wubs/growls. Did you make the sounds on your own or are they presets? I do like how you mixed them. Not bad! The piano melody is cool and fits well with the wubs/growls. And than that humorous ending, haha...
All in all, I liked it. Good work.

MrStr8face responds:

I make my own sounds xD And the classical instruments were patches in FL Studio, although I'm sure it would have sounded better if I had used a classical VST x.x Thank you for the review! :D Good luck to you in the competition!

Not bad. I like how you experimented with some sounds. It has a strong beat. You already won first price for most original work. For sure, I never heard something like this before.
I really like the synth in the start and in the middle of the song. Really fills up the beatboxing stuff.
The part at 1:32 is catchy and sounds cool, only the transition to that part ( at around 1:31 ) is kinda worse. At around 2:00 and further, the song gets messy and I actually lost my interest of listening till the end. But oh well, I did listen to end. I was disappointed because you fade it out, lol. I expected a 'funny' and cool ending.
Anyways, don't hate on my harsh review. I liked the song! (:

CaperCube responds:

If anything your review was kind. Honestly I wasn't expecting it to get as high of a score as it did. Thanks for the in-depth review and the encouragement! Also, I REALLY liked your song, and I hope you do well in the rest of the competition!

Cool song! Love the 8-bit sounds. Really catchy and super smooth melody at 0:24, it's got a touch from some pokemon song. It sounds also like a keygen song, haha. I do think the transition at 1:11 is a bit lame.
Overall nice work (:

Mawnz responds:

Thanks for your thoughts on the song! I agree with you on the transition, but it was kind of a panic solution to give the listener a break in the middle of the song :p Could rework it later on when I get the time :D
Thanks again and good luck to you!

Cool! Kinda liking the beat and it's melody. If I were you I would make a different bassline, the only bass I hear is the kick and in the background there is just a weak wobbly sidechained bass. For the build starting at 0:54 I think you could have used a rise sound. At 1:08 and 2:58 , I prefer an instant start of the 4-on-the-floor kickbeat instead of waiting to kick it in for 1 bar. Also, I really miss the open and closed hihats, especially in this type of music. It would make a huge different and it gives the beat a huge boost. I really like the mixdown. Good use of up and downlifters. There is no such problem about the mastering. Not too loud nor too harsh. I also like the melody change in the end at 3:50! Good work dude!

Lalalo14 responds:

Yeah the bass kinda suck now! I EQ'd it down too much because I was getting a distortion sound with the combination of the main lead, kick and the bass.
I totally agree about the build-up. Now it's just a standard snare getting faster. It needs something more. Going to try to add a upriser there!
There actually is a open snare that begins at 1:35, but I think it's too low and not as crisp as it should be right now.

Thanks alot for the review man! One of the most detailed I've gotten and I like it!

Oh man. isn't that the 'Countdown' Sytrus preset? I missed it :'( Cool ideas but sounds like you just threw some random sounds in one song. The kick's punching randomly too. No actual beat or so. Try making it more listenable, please. (:

AyzanNightbane responds:

Actually, that's exactly what I did. I did work on the beat though. Just kinda felt pretty mischievous yesterday.

Next level Eminem.

SinZLazTWordZ responds:

Haha appreciate that bro.
Always check back for more.
